NOMURAプログラミングコンテスト2020 概要
野村ホールディングス株式会社が主催する、個人戦のオンラインプログラミングコンテストです。このコンテストは rated です。レートが2799以下の参加者は、コンテスト結果によってレートが変動します。

- kibuna 数理モデルを駆使して金融市場を分析する、クオンツと呼ばれる職種があります。 その分析対象、分析手法は担当部署により様々で、伝統的な計量経済に加え機械学習的手法を用いたマーケットデータ解析や、電子取引執行のためのアルゴリズム開発、資産運用に関する先端技術を用いた分析手法の研究開発など、金融市場ビジネスの広がりに応じて多岐にわたっています。 例えば私が所属する野村證券マクロ・トレーディング部クオンツ開発課では、金融派生商品の価格・リスク評価に用いる数理モデルの分析から、その効率的な数値計算を行うアルゴリズムを社内ライブラリへ実装するところまで一貫して行っています。業務においては、数理モデルを分析して適用範囲を検討することや、計算量を削減するためのアルゴリズム上の工夫、複雑な計算処理を整理して実装することなどが日常的に求められますが、これらは競技プログラミングで培われるコーディングの基礎体力に通じるものだと個人的に感じています。 ご興味を持たれた方は、下記お問い合わせ先までぜひご連絡してみてください。

Message from Nomura Group Quantitative Analysts
- kibuna At Nomura, there are people who specialize in analyzing financial markets using mathematical models, called quantitative analysts. While the scope and methods of analysis vary depending on the department, quantitative analysts conduct market data analysis using machine learning techniques in addition to traditional econometric techniques, develop algorithms for executing electronic transactions, as well as research and develop analysis methods for asset management using advanced technology. This field is getting more diverse in line with the expanding financial markets business.
In the Rates Trading Department (Quantities Development Division, Nomura Securities) where I work, we analyze mathematical models used for pricing and risk assessment of financial derivatives and implement algorithms for more efficient numerical calculations in our internal library. On a daily basis, I analyze mathematical models, examine the scope of application and create new algorithms to reduce the number of calculations and implement complex calculation processes. I believe programming competitions can help develop the basic analytical and coding skills required to be a quantitative analyst. - If the participants would like to receive information from Nomura and be a student or PD researcher, we may send information regarding events that allow you to introduce mathematical professionals working at Nomura.
- To receive a prize (Amazon gift card), it is required to register an email address and agree to the privacy policy in application for this competition. In case that any email address is not registered or there is no agreement to the privacy policy, the participant will not be eligible for the prize.
- People who reside outside of Japan and Nomura Group employees are not eligible to receive prizes.
- If for any reason the prize cannot be delivered, we will contact you at your registered email address. If you do not reply within two weeks, the prize will not be awarded.
- If an awardee becomes ineligible to receive the prize, the award will be presented to the participant who is one rank below.
- If there are more than one persons with the same ranking, awardees may be decided by lot.
Rules
This competition is full-feedback (solutions are judged during the competition).When you solve a problem, you get a score assigned to it. Competitors are ranked first by total scores, then by penalties. The penalties are computed as (the time you spend to get your current score) + (5 minutes) * (the number of incorrect attempts).
