NOMURAプログラミングコンテスト2021 概要
野村ホールディングス株式会社が主催する、個人戦のオンラインプログラミングコンテストです。このコンテストは rated です。レートが2799以下の参加者は、コンテスト結果によってレートが変動します。
なぜNOMURAはAtCoderユーザーを必要としているのか？

NOMURAはAtCoderユーザーにどのような体験を提供できるのか？
NOMURAでは、確率解析や統計解析等に基づいて、金融市場の不確実性を踏まえた金融派生商品の価格付けや資産運用における資産配分等を定量的に行う「金融工学」に関する研究開発に、30年以上にわたって取り組んでいます。さらに近年の金融研究は、金融工学のみならず、機械学習技術を積極的に活用するというパラダイムの大転換期を迎えており、NOMURAはそうした研究の一部をAAAI・IJCAI等の機械学習分野のトップカンファレンスにて公表しています。さらに、マイクロ秒単位で注文処理することが求められる株式取引では、膨大な量の取引注文データ等を活用し、低レイテンシーで自動的に売買のタイミングや数量を決めて最適な価格で取引執行を行うエンジンや、高速データ処理のためのシステム基盤を自社開発しています。また組織については、日本にありながらも6割が海外籍の社員で、またグローバル・カンパニーとして、海外の他地域の社員とも密接に連携しながら事業を推進している部署もあります。

In the world of finance, a new market was once created from a single mathematical formula. That market is now said to be $600 trillion in size. The 1980s saw a large influx of mathematical experts into the field of finance, mainly from the aerospace engineering industry. These experts developed investment strategies and financial products based on mathematical formulas. Nomura believes that having people skilled in mathematical analysis is the key to our competitive edge in the financial services industry. For more than 30 years, we have hired and trained teams comprising mathematical science professionals (Quantitative Analysts, Researchers and Engineers) dedicated to the research and analysis of mathematical models. - kibuna By nature, the analysis of financial markets involves constantly handling data, which makes it highly compatible with IT technology and quantitative analysis, and engineers and researchers are able to leverage their specialized skills in various departments and businesses.
One example is my work in the Global Markets Digital Strategy Department. To promote the digitalization of trading processes, we plan, design, and develop in-house systems, in addition to developing mathematical models for the pricing of financial products, and analyzing market data in cooperation with our users, experienced traders, sales personnel, and the IT department. Also, there are many opportunities to work with related departments overseas.
System development can be very challenging in the specialized field of finance as it requires a deep understanding of actual business operations. However, there are many opportunities to learn and come up with creative ideas for mathematical modeling, its implementation, and algorithms for calculation speedup. It is also very rewarding to see it being put to practical use in business. I believe that competitive programmers with strong thinking and coding skills will have many opportunities to excel at Nomura.

In addition to information science related research, this program supports researchers engaged in fundamental science research, especially in mathematics, statistics and physics. These fields of study are closely related to financial research, and Nomura has many employees with a background in these areas. In addition to fundamental research on machine learning theory, Nomura is also engaged in research aimed at the medium- to long-term development of the financial industry, such as industrial application of quantum computers and quantum cryptography to the financial sector.

- To receive a prize (Amazon gift card), it is required to register an email address and agree to the privacy policy in application for this competition. In case that any email address is not registered or there is no agreement to the privacy policy, the participant will not be eligible for the prize.
- People who reside outside of Japan and Nomura Group employees are not eligible to receive prizes.
- If for any reason the prize cannot be delivered, we will contact you at your registered email address. If you do not reply within two weeks, the prize will not be awarded.
- If an awardee becomes ineligible to receive the prize, the award will be presented to the participant who is one rank below.
- If there are more than one persons with the same ranking, awardees may be decided by lot.
Rules
This competition is full-feedback (solutions are judged during the competition).When you solve a problem, you get a score assigned to it. Competitors are ranked first by total scores, then by penalties. The penalties are computed as (the time you spend to get your current score) + (5 minutes) * (the number of incorrect attempts).
